Blogging has definitely been a challenge for me, but I will try to be better about posting on here about the shop. A little update, we lost a great employee to bigger and better things this weekend. Sara has been one of the best workers a business owner could ask for. We will miss her for sure! We hired a new girl named Melissa and hopefully she will work out well for us. We really are a small tight knit group, that must gel in order for us to keep positive and have a fun place to work. We are gearing up for the fall wedding season in Chico and it should be fun!

The new year brings big things!!

For Chico Florist, the new year has gotten off to a amazing start. We finally have a solid staff of great hard working professional ladies. We are currently gearing up for Valentine's Day which is in just over 2 weeks away. To top it all of, we are expecting the arrival of our first child in only 3 weeks. So needless to say, it has and will continue to be, a very exciting and fun new year. I just wanted to update the blog to try and get back in the habit of doing it. We have been super busy as of late at the shop. Lots of weddings and funerals in the past few weeks. Krista has been working so hard and long hours. I am so impressed with how amazing she is and how talented she is at what she does. Being pregnant is not easy, but having to work and stand for 7 days a week is even tougher. We are debating on whether or not to hire someone earlier than the December time line that we originally talked about. I think we should just to give that person the extra time to adjust and take on some real responsibility with the shop. I will still be there to oversee all the daily operations when Krista is not able to, but we need someone solid who can design well to step into her shoes and take some real control of things. Headed over to the sort-of flower farm to pick dahlias tomorrow morning. We went by there today and there were lots of amazing colors and plenty to pick.
